About HHMAP

Helping Hand Mission Against Proverty (formerly Helping Hand Africa Mission) was approached by Faith Builder Primary School, this is a church school that is recognised by the government. They are in a privately rented building and were threatened with eviction due to rent arrears. Most of the teachers are full time staff but they are only receiving 50% salary due to lack of funds. HHAMP was able to assist the school in paying their outstanding arrears totalling 60,000 Jamaican dollars. We also supplied thirty Bibles which they requested for prize giving day. We solicit your prayers for this school. The teachers are obviously very committed people.

Most of the parents have no Christian commitment, but they highly value what the school is doing for their children. They are thankful that even when they cannot pay the 20,000 Jamaican dollars a term, their children are not turned away.

Three students graduated in October 2012. One from Nairobi Medical College with a Medical Technician degree. Another from Bugema University in Uganda with a BA in Theology. We have been supporting these students for three years and we feel proud to be part of their achievements. Another student whom we supported has also graduated from the University of Nairobi with a degree in Economics.

Anniversary of the King James Bible

Remembering the core of our mission, HHAMP decided to purchase 1500 Bibles to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the publication of the King James version of the Bible. Funds were donated for this special project by two individuals from the West country. They are also very passionate about the Word of God getting into peoples’ homes. Some of the Bibles were given to high school students who were requesting English language Bibles. Some of the Bibles were printed in the Somali language and were distributed in the Somali community where refugees cross into Kenya. Some Bibles were printed in the Swahili language for the Maasai community. Others were given to the prisons.

The Bible is among the most highly prized literature material in many African countries.
